IOS and Texas Health Resources Join Forces

Inventory Optimization Solutions (IOS) and Texas Health Resources have expanded their partnership by offering health care consulting services wrapped around tenured, proven technology. Texas Health’s goal is to help health care organizations repair the breaks in the supply chain by leveraging the IOS procurement and inventory platform (ENVI) and proven processes that create hard-dollar savings. Texas Health has automated more than 300 facilities with IOS’ technology throughout 16 counties in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Their experience is vast, and the partnership provides a valuable service to the non-acute market and helps create visibility across the entire health care continuum.

Since 2013, Texas Health has implemented ENVI™, IOS’ next-generation complete supply chain solution, to standardize products in multiple categories and ensure consistent purchasing, receiving and accounts payable processes. Texas Health has saved $6 million through the non-acute program and its reliable, transparent supply chain. It uses ENVI to create an approval process to prevent unnecessary orders, and leverage supply chain data to make more informed, cross-enterprise buying decisions. Texas Health has also lowered risk by proactively managing product recalls and backorders.

Automate The Entire Procure to Pay Process

Congratulations to Bethel Home for winning the IOS 4th quarter contest with their article on leveraging ENVI to automate the entire procure to pay process.  Every quarter IOS shares best practice submissions to help educate the community on supply chain automation in the non-acute healthcare market.  All you need is a super user like Jason and proven technology that will stand the test of time!

Lutheran Homes implemented ENVI in May of 2016.  With ENVI, we have moved to scanning items to place orders.  We started keeping an electronic inventory visible to our entire campus, scanning items out of our inventory and tracking where they are being used and we have started submitting orders electronically via EDI to our most heavily used distributors.  Submitting our orders via EDI has also allowed us to receive invoices electronically. The entire process from procurement to payment has been automated.  There’s no need for a single piece of paper.  We have designated ENVI as the place to go when purchasing any product. This has increased our contract spend within our GPO by 51% and increased our rebates.  With ENVI, our goals of saving time and money and maintaining inventory control have been met.

2-Bin Par Management Program

We’ve added 2-Bin functionality to ENVI™, its next-generation complete supply chain solution. The 2-Bin enhancement is yet another feature within ENVI’s robust par management toolset, which simplifies, organizes and maintains previously time-consuming, manual inventory processes for clinicians and supply chain professionals.

ENVI, which stands for “enterprise visibility,” is a complete, web-based supply chain solution, consisting of pre-integrated modules that can be modified and scaled based on the unique needs of healthcare facilities. ENVI repairs and replaces broken supply chain processes, bringing tremendous value to existing systems through customizable clinical and financial integrations.

“2-Bin is a simple, yet effective system for replenishing inventory; and it’s easy to implement and maintain,” said Amy Zuber, CMRP, Director of Purchasing, Summit Orthopedics. “With the support of IOS, our goal is to simplify our supply chain processes as much as possible.”

“Customer-driven enhancements, like our 2-Bin functionality, ensure that IOS technology is based on real-word best practices, seamlessly evolving along with the healthcare industry,” said Steve Britt, Managing Partner, IOS.

With the nation’s largest footprint in the non-acute healthcare supply chain, IOS works with more than 4,500 critical access hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term care facilities and physician clinics. Treating the supply chain like a science, IOS has carved out a leadership position in the industry with stellar customer service and years of innovative technology development.

Texas Health Resources (THR) Wins 2nd Qtr Best Practice Contest

“For me the greatest success is the Usage Module within the IOS/ENVI platform. I love that the platform is all encompassing but the one thing that I needed was true cost tracking to the patient level. Being on the forefront of this is crucial when trying to find cost savings in today’s market. This module is worth the work to see true cost down to the pennies (spent on hypo needles for example). Each module within the platform works together like pieces of a puzzle. Having those inventory items flow over to the preference cards and being able to track patient usage is a huge step for our organization.  Being able to take that data and show the difference between surgeons at one center or across the region opens discussions on standardization. Making small changes leads to big wins!”

Crystal Run Healthcare wins IOS First Quarter Contest

IOS is dedicated to the mission of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare supply chain.  This year we’re asking our customers to share their successes with IOS technology so that others can learn how to leverage the tools for success.  Automating the supply chain is a daunting task! We want to educate the community on what works and what doesn’t.

The winner is asked to share and educate others on how they can drive cost out of the supply chain through improved inventory and procurement processes and through a single, centralized multi-vendor platform.  The process is easy and the deadline for the second quarter contest is June 30th

Please congratulate Kevin Keller and team at Crystal Run Healthcare for their outstanding accomplishments in automating the CRHC supply chain!
